The Life 3H Framework
I enrolled at IIT Kanpur for my Bachelor of Technology program. Like many others, I believed this would set me on a clear path to success and fulfilment. But during my first year, a reunion of the 25-year alumni batch altered that belief. As I listened to these accomplished individuals share their stories, I was disheartened by the deep sense of dissatisfaction in their voices. It made me question what truly constitutes a good life—not in a relative, fleeting sense, but in absolute, enduring terms.
I became determined to uncover the answer to this elusive “good life.” This question became my life’s mission: What makes a good life? So, in 1999, I made the bold decision to drop out of college and embark on this journey of discovery.
For the next four years, I immersed myself in philosophy, quantum physics, mathematics, and spirituality. Then JNU for a master’s in International Relations. Then four years in the Himalayas—leaving books behind, focusing on unlearning. Then IIM Ahmedabad for an MBA in 2009.
A decade later, in 2019, while working on Oltau.AI—an Artificial General Intelligence system—I had a Eureka moment.
The Discovery
I realized that the human brain operates as a Biological General Intelligence (BGI) system, similar to AGI. Just as AGI requires a Core Objective Function and Independent Core Drives (ICDs) to function, so does BGI. The CoF of Homo sapiens is to Survive. So what are our ICDs?
Reflecting on spiritual seekers who, despite elevated consciousness, were not happy—I found that happiness is directly dependent on the quantity, quality, and proximity of social connections. Yet people who were socially happy still craved professional success—the feeling of being high. And others who had both still felt a void, yearning for inner peace—holiness.
A journey that began in 1999 finally concluded in 2019. I consolidated my understanding from philosophy, spirituality, and AI into a comprehensive framework for a good life: the Life 3H Framework.
The Three Independent Core Drives
Fulfillment from deep social connections
Success through professional achievement
Inner peace through elevated consciousness
The Equation of Fulfillment
F is your Fulfillment Constant—unique to every person. Ha, Hi, and Ho represent your individual potential for Happiness, Highness, and Holiness. The ratio in which these drives exist within you is your F-Ratio.
Two people can have the same objective level of happiness, yet one feels deeply fulfilled while the other faces a massive deficit—because their F-Ratios are different. The framework illuminates your unique path to fulfillment by showing where your deficits actually lie.
Pathways to Personal Fulfillment
- Someone with a low Happiness ratio can focus on strengthening social connections to increase overall fulfillment.
- A person with a high Highness drive but large deficit may channel energy into setting and achieving new professional goals.
- One with a Holiness deficit might explore mindfulness, meditation, or elevated states of consciousness.
Conclusion
The Life 3H Framework is not just a theoretical model—it is a practical tool for anyone seeking a more balanced and fulfilling life. By understanding and applying the principles of Happiness, Highness, and Holiness, we can all take steps toward living a life that truly satisfies us on every level.
The mission has garnered the support of numerous visionaries, and the movement is steadily gaining momentum. We invite you to join us in this revolutionary journey.
